About The Lawlor Group
The Lawlor Group was founded in 1987 and is one of the nation's preeminent higher education marketing firms.
Over the past 20 years, we have provided market research, strategic counsel and integrated marketing communications (print and web) assistance to more than 170 colleges and universities, educational consortia, private secondary schools, and a few other selected non-profit organizations and for-profit firms. Our primary market domain is private colleges and universities.
Originally started in the basement of John Lawlor's house on Glenhurst Avenue in suburban St. Louis Park, the arrival of John's first child and a deep desire to sustain his happy marriage were the catalysts for John and his colleagues to move to 6106 Excelsior Boulevard, on the border of St. Louis Park and Edina, and only a block away from Mike Tice's (former Minnesota Vikings head coach) favorite hangout, Bunny's.
During the next 16 years, the business grew, the office expanded, and lots of memorable "stuff" piled up. Finally, John's colleagues pointed out the need to move to a more inspiring office setting. Recognizing the wisdom of his colleagues' insights, John went on an office quest and discovered the perfect place on Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie (sounds very inspiring!). In another twist of irony, the "Group" moved on Independence Day Weekend, 2007.
Our new office home has proven to be a great place for us to collaborate, ruminate, reflect, focus, analyze and engage in helping clients enhance their value proposition and create organizational distinction.
And best of all, more and more of our clients have chosen to make The Lawlor Group's world headquarters a destination for strategic collaboration, analysis, planning and creativity.
We don't know what the future holds for us, but we promise we will always be committed to providing intelligent marketing solutions for education—and have fun doing it!
